Douglas Lee, grew up in Los Angeles, before moving to New York. After having studied graphic design for 18 months, received a degree in applied arts, and having begun a film course, he ended up deciding that studying really wasn’t his thing. So he taught himself graphic design, illustration and photography, three disciplines he considered were closely linked and which allow him to control all stages of his work. A child of the 1980s, he admits the decade still profoundly inspires him, hence his retro, flashy and hyperrealist style. Douglas’s originality lies in his technique of achieving an airbrushed style with a computer. A motion-design specialist, he also creates animated films and has clients including British Airways, Marlboro, Volkswagen, MTV, Coca-Cola and film director Roman Coppola. monsieurlagent.com
